| Abstract | Osnovni cilj ovoga rada, s empirijskog aspekta, bio je ocijeniti uspješnost poslovanja društva Hrvatski Telekom d.d., lidera na trţištu elektroniĉkih komunikacija u proteklih pet godina (2011.-15.), te njegovu perspektivu u neposrednoj budućnosti. U tu svrhu analizirani su financijski izvještaji društva iz spomenutog razdoblja, koristeći se uobiĉajenim metodama analize financijskih izvještaja: u prvom redu komparativnom analizom, analizom trenda te analizom putem pokazatelja.
U promatranom se razdoblju društvo suoĉavalo s nizom prijetnji iz vanjske poslovne okoline: upornom gospodarskom stagnacijom, sve većom konkurencijom na trţištu, inovacijama u elektroniĉkoj komunikaciji (poput besplatnih internetskih komunikacijskih servisa), te novom EU regulativom koja je snizila cijene roaming usluga.
Iako je kao rezultat navedenih okolnosti bilo došlo do pada prihoda i posljediĉno dobiti, Hrvatski Telekom d.d. zadrţao je svoju poziciju trţišnog lidera i na kraju razdoblja. Nadalje, duga gotovo da i nema – većina obveza društva odnosi se na kratkoroĉne obveze prema dobavljaĉima – što znaĉi da je i rizik bankrota praktiĉki odsutan. TakoĊer, društvo je i dalje profitabilno, te se dividende isplaćuju. Konaĉno, na pomolu je preokret negativnih trendova, kako u poslovanju društva, tako i u hrvatskom gospodarstvu u cjelini. Stoga nema razloga sumnjati da će drugo po veliĉini trgovaĉko društvo u Hrvatskoj i u dogledno vrijeme ostati vodeći pruţatelj elektroniĉkih komunikacijskih usluga. |
| Abstract (english) | The main aim of this paper, from an empirical standpoint, was to evaluate the business operations efficancy of the company Hrvatski Telekom d.d., the market leader in electronic communications in the past five years (2011-2015), as well as its prospects in the near future. To this end, we have analyzed the company's financial statements from the aforementioned time period, using the usual methods of financial statements analysis: mainly comparative analysis, trend analysis, and financial ratios analysis.
During the observed time period, the company faced a series of threats from the external business environment: namely, the persistent economic stagnation, an ever-increasing competition on the market, innovations in the field of electronic communications (such as free Internet communication applications), and the new EU legislation, that lowered the prices of roaming services.
Even though these circumstances did result in a drop of revenues and consequently profits, Hrvatski Telekom d.d. has retained its leading position on the market. Furthermore, the debts are virtually non-existent: most of the company's liabilities relate to short-term trade payables, which makes the bankruptcy risk practically absent. Also, the company still generates profits, and pays out dividends. Finally, a reversal of the negative trends is expected soon, both in the company's operations, and in the Croatian economy as a whole. Therefore there is no reason to doubt that the second largest company in Croatia will remain the leading provider of electronic communication services in the foreseeable future. |
