The main objectives of this study were to underline the meaning of adequate valorisation and patronage of cultural resources, to point out the lack of suitable connection between the sector of culture and sector of tourism and also, to point out the need for coordination in creative process of emerging tourism products such as cultural ones. First part of thesis presented the subject and the problem of research, the hypotesis objectives, the goals and the contribution of the study. The theoretical part of thesis covered the concepts of cultural tourism and cultural tourism products. The importance of the cultural resources valorisation through tourism was also pointed out. Furthermore, general informations about the city of Zadar were presented, such as geographical and historical determinants, traffic accessibility etc. Also, the complete resource base which Zadar has, was described. At the end of theoretical part, info about current demand and supply regarding tourism of Zadar was listed. In the empirical part of the study, a statistical analysis of data obtained by analysis of survey questionnaires was conducted. Two questionnaires were used for the purpose of the study, the first one was conducted among the visitors, while the second one was conducted among the representatives of tourism supply in the city of Zadar. In accordance with the results which were obtained, both hypotesis were accepted. So, it is logic sense to conclude that Zadar is recognized as the destination of cultural tourism by its visitors. Also, it was confirmed that the development of partnerships between the cultural and tourism sectors positively affects the valorisation of cultural resources.
