The thesis focuses on the use of new revenue management technologies in small hotels and the impact on room revenues. The revenue management discipline has developed since 1970’s, but only recently new solutions suitable for small hotels were introduced. However, the discipline itself is still relatively unknown to the owners and managers of small hotels and therefore we describe the application, tools and processes in revenue management as well as the future of the discipline. Small hotels as a significant part of Croatia's hotel offer lag behind in applying new technologies and implementing revenue management for larger hotels and international hotel chains. For this reason, the example of Hotel Luxe in Split, which has been operating since 2010, is being used in the work and the decision to purchase a modern revenue management system was realized in 2014. In order to demonstrate the impact of the application and use of new technology on the revenues of the room department, we took a look at the time period before implementing the new system, namely the year 2013 and the year when the system fully operated, ie 2015. In the thesis, we show that there are a number of technological solutions that can be applied. Therefore, it should be emphasized that the application of revenue management systems in another hotel, in a different location, with different settings and with different choice of technology solution doesn’t have to provide the same results as in example of hotel Luxe. The emphasis should be on educating the owners and hotel managers who need to know how to choose and later use the appropriate system to increase room revenue.
