The aim of this study was to analyze the types of insurances of road motor vehicles and their movement in the market in the Republic of Croatia. The analysis showed that gross written premiums of motor third party liability insurance have been decreasing after the liberalization and deregulation of the market, which decreased compared to the previous year. The number of motor third party liability insurance policies increased and remains relatively constant. Share of motor vehicle insurance in non-life insurance increased in 2014. The most common type of motor vehicle insurance is a motor vehicle insurance under their own power with a share of more than 90%. Case study analyzed motor vehicle insurance of an insurance company Jadransko osiguranje d.d. With a high market share of a quarter million users, the company offers all kinds of non-life insurances. In 2015., the company achieved growth in total gross premiums for motor vehicles under their own power of 18.25%, compared to 2014., with the absolute amount of 52.522.136 kn. The share of the company in the market in gross written premium of motor vehicle insurance in 2015. is 7.99% and is ranked fourth. Jadransko osiguranje d.d. is certainly one of the leading Croatian insurance companies which continiously develops throughout the years.
