Abstract
Promatrajući uključenost žena i muškaraca u poduzetničke aktivnosti možemo primijetiti kako postoji jaz među spolovima. U posljednjih 20 godina vidi se napredak ženskog poduzetništva u svijetu pa tako i u Hrvatskoj. Žene poduzetnice i one koje to misle postati imaju veliki potencijal samo ih treba dodatno ohrabriti, dati poticaje i ponuditi dodatne treninge za unaprjeđenje vještina za što uspješnije vođenje poduzeća. I u svijetu poduzetništva vlada diskriminacija ženskog spola kad je u pitanju plaća. Osim toga i dalje možemo pronaći tradicionalnu podjelu poslova na muške i ženske. Velik dio žena želi napustiti svoj trenutni posao, ali to ipak ne čini zbog straha od samozapošljavanja. Povećanjem žena poduzetnica došlo bi do poboljšanja gospodarstva i do manje stope nezaposlenosti. Poticanjem ženskog poduzetništva ojačala bi se uloga žena u društvu i tako bi se postigla što veća ravnopravnost spolova, a otklonio jaz.
Abstract (english)
By observing the involvement of women and men in entrepreneurial activities, we can notice that there is a gender gap. In the last 20 years, we can see the progress of women's entrepreneurship in the world, including Croatia. Women entrepreneurs and those who intend to become one have great potential, they just need to be further encouraged, given incentives and offered additional training for upgrading skills to run successful businesses. In the world of entrepreneurship, we also have discrimination against women when it comes to salary. In addition, we can still find the traditional division of labour between males and females. An increasing number of women in entrepreneurship would lead to improvements in the economy and it would reduce the unemployment rate. Encouraging women's entrepreneurship will strengthen the role of women in society and in this way it would be possible to achieve gender equality and close the gender gap.
