The problem in this paper is to analyze and examine the perception of business ethics in the pharmaceutical industry. The goals of the research are to theoretically problematize the production of drugs and the needs of the pharmaceutical industry and to analyze ethical doubts in the relationship between the pharmaceutical industry based on the conducted survey research. The pharmaceutical industry is a very lucrative business, but at the same time that industry is burdened with ethical challenges. This paper presents the results of a survey on business ethics in the pharmaceutical industry. The respondents filled out an online survey questionnaire created specifically for that survey. The survey involved 98 citizens over the age of 18. The results of the research showed that the surveyed Croatian citizens mostly believe that the ethics of doing business in the pharmaceutical industry is moderate, that pharmaceutical companies think only of their profits and that they do not care about patients, or that they want to create as many chronic drug addicts. patients. It also turned out that citizens mostly believe that pharmaceutical companies invest in marketing as much as in drug research and development and that they do not trust the safety of approved vaccines against COVID-19 and the transparency and accuracy of data related to these vaccines published by pharmaceutical companies. When it comes to the relationship between doctors and pharmaceutical companies, the attitudes of Croatian citizens are divided, while their attitudes towards drug advertising and their effectiveness and harmfulness are not clearly defined. The positive attitude of Croatian citizens is only towards the development of numerous drugs in the pharmaceutical industry, without which modern medicine and the treatment of many diseases would be unthinkable.
