Abstract
Tema ovog diplomskog rada je ''Utjecaj virtualnih valuta na politiku centralnih banaka''. Problematika ovog diplomskog je novija jer i same virtualne valute postoje samo nekoliko godina te se još uvijek radi o vrlo nepoznatoj temi koja, unatoč tome što su razni autori pisali o njoj, do danas je mnogo pitanja, povezanih s njom, ostalo neodgovoreno. Prvi dio rada teoretski objašnjava temu, virtualne valute se pregledavaju više s ekonomskog nego tehničkog gledišta i prati se od podjela, razloga korištenja, posjedovanja, prednosti virtualnih valuta. Utvrđuje se da li virtualne valute imaju karakteristike novca te se prati njihova vrijednost tijekom godina. Najveću virtualnu valutu bitcoin je najčešće korištena kao primjer. Drugi dio daje odgovore, prvo kolika je stvarna veličina virtualnih valuta i njihova važnost u ekonomiji, a zatim se ispituju mogućnosti kao i nove ideje vezane za njihovo uvođenje kod centralnih banaka. U ovom diplomskom radu dokazalo se da ne postoji veliki utjecaj virtualnih valuta na centralne banke i monetarnu politiku i da centralne banke mogu kreirati svoju virtualnu valutu, ali svrha toga je upitna jer bi imali stvar vrlo slična depozitima.
Abstract (english)
Topic of this master thesis is about ''Influence of virtual currencies on central bank policy''. The topic is new because virtual currencies are existing only for few years and this is still very unknown field which, even many authors write about it, there stilll remain many questions unanswered. First part is theory descripition about virtual currency, observed more from economical than tehnical point of view. Monitoring is based on classification, reasons of usage, possesion, benefits of virtal currencies. Further more, it is studiedif virtual currencies have characteristics of money and their value through years is observed. The highest virtual currency Bitcoin is the most used as an example. Second part gives answers as what’s the real size of virtual currencies and their importance in the economy. At the end, their possibilities and new ideas are researched, regarding currency practice in central banks. In this diploma thesis it is proved that there is no big influence from virtual currences on central banks and monetary policy and that central banks can create their virtual currency, but purpose od this is questionable because we will have thing very similar to deposits.
