The global crises of the last ten years have further highlighted the need for financial knowledge so that individuals can understand financial concepts, make informed decisions and manage money better. This is essential for avoiding debt and ensuring financial stability, for individuals and households. Credit cards are becoming an increasingly important tool for financial transactions, offering convenience and flexibility. They provide various cost management options and reduce the need for physical cash, but can lead to debt if not used responsibly. Education about financial concepts, already at school age, is important for preventing over-indebtedness and achieving financial stability of citizens, which consequently contributes to the general well-being of society. The aim of thesis was to examine whether there is a connection between financial knowledge and the use of credit cards, and whether certain socio-demographic characteristics influence the use of credit cards. The research conducted in this paper showed that there is a connection between financial knowledge and the use of credit cards. The research also showed that gender, age and level of education have an influence on the use of credit cards, while family status of respondents has no influence on the use of credit cards.
