The development of the Internet decisively influenced the development of all forms of electronic transactions for the convenience of access, unlimited choice of products and competitive pricing. Electronic Market, which is based on the use of Internet technology is still being introduced in the organization and develop in order to meet organizational goals, such as achieving effectiveness and efficiency and market competitiveness. The emergence of the Internet has enabled the creation of virtual markets and create conditions for increasing the overall competitiveness. Business through the Internet affirm a new market that globalization provides an opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises. The development of electronic commerce has brought major differences in the acceptance of new technologies. New technologies have affected thousands of entrepreneurs to set up Internet companies. Creating a new form of entrepreneurship with the use of Internet technologies is fueling existing businesses in the EU to reconsider the way serve their markets. And they began to run their own sales channels on the Internet in order to become competitive in the market and survive. Now most of the EU countries apply the business use of Internet technologies in administration, tax system, customs, banking, marketing, health, education, trade and the like. In the European Union there are more than 380 million Internet users and 53% of internet users buying products and services through Internet. 48% of EU citizens used Internet banking, and 20% of them selling goods over the Internet. The introduction of e-commerce has encouraged the expansion of the market, allow telework with reduced costs. This paper will show the impact of Internet technologies on business. Will be carried out research which will include 20 companies from the Croatian and on the basis of the data from previous studies to determine the significance of the impact of Internet technologies on business. This research will be examined the advantages and disadvantages of electronic commerce over traditional forms of business, and will determine how the application of Internet technology impacts on business in the EU countries, and to examine what impact the application of Internet technology has a business in the Republic of Croatia as one of the EU member states.
