There are numerous definitions of interpersonal skills and motivation. Many authors have different definitions, however, all of them agreed that the key to a successful enterprise are interpersonal skills. The development of interpersonal skills is important for both, managers and employees. To develop effective interpersonal skills it is necessary to continuously work on their improvement. As it was stated previously in the introduction, there are four categories of interpersonal skills: development of successful relationships, influence on others, advising & training, and networking. Every category of interpersonal skills is important and the enterprise can function successfully only if all the components of interpersonal skills are developed. In my opinion, I would give a slight advantage to the development of successful relationships considering relations and dynamics between supervisors and colleagues greatly impact employees' performance and satisfaction at work. When employees feel engaged and satisfied they are more likely to be motivated and work harder for the good of the company. The motivation is the initiator of everything. There are numerous definitions, theories, and strategies about motivation. It is important to know that employees are motivated by different factors. Therefore, it is necessary for managers to develop different strategies to motivate employees. Motivated employees perform better which significantly impacts the growth and development of the enterprise.
