The whole world has suffered great consequences under the influence of the COVID-19 virus. The aim of this paper is to investigate all the changes that occurred with the emergence of the virus and how it all affected tourism in the Republic of Croatia. The first part of this paper deals with an introduction to the main problem which is analyzed in detail. The second part of the paper describes the origin of the virus, its onset and action, which factors were most affected and the consequences it brought. The third part of the paper explains the importance of tourism in a particular economy, its main function, all the problems caused by the virus in tourism and the new opportunities that have arisen with its emergence. The last part of the paper refers specifically to how Croatia reacted to the outbreak of the pandemic, emphasizing how it affected tourism in Croatia. The results of research and analysis indicate that this global crisis without thinking has had a bad effect on all factors, especially tourism. Tourism as a service industry is very sensitive to any economic change. Although the pandemic brings many negative results, we learn through the paper how the countries reacted and "defended" themselves from this catastrophe, where the impact on the Republic of Croatia was analyzed in detail. In terms of tourism, Croatia has managed to surpass the results of other Mediterranean countries. New opportunities and new economic measures have emerged whose main goal is to reduce the negative impact of the pandemic as much as possible.
