Abstract
Financijska kriza izbacila je na površinu brojne nedostatke financijskog sustava i bankarske industrije. Stoga baselski odbor za nadzor banaka donosi novi set regulatornih mjera i kapitalnih zahtjeva pod nazivom Basel III. U svrhu ovog rada tako je teorijski objašnjen nastanak financijske krize kao i njene implikacije na banke i njihove prilagodbe novim zahtjevima. Cilj ovog rada nam je bio dokazati da su nove MRS regulative obuhvaćene Basel III sporazumom utjecale na smanjene rizične aktive u ukupnoj aktivi europskih banaka u poslijekriznom periodu. Rezultati su pokazali kako je udjel rizične aktive konstantno padao no i dalje ne možemo za to okriviti MRS regulative jer je prošlo premalo vremena da bi se ispitao njihov utjecaj.
Abstract (english)
The financial crisis has brought to light a number of shortcomings in the financial system and the banking industry. Therefore, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision adopts a new set of regulatory measures and capital requirements called Basel III. For the purpose of this paper, the emergence of the financial crisis as well as its implications for banks and their adaptation to new requirements are theoretically explained. The aim of this paper was to prove that the new MRS regulations covered by the Basel III agreement had an impact on reduced risk assets in the total assets of European banks in the post-crisis period. The results showed that the share of risky assets was constantly falling, but we still cannot blame the MRS regulations for this because too little time has passed to examine their impact.
