Abstract
Tržišna moć se može definirati kao stupanj kontrole koji imaju poduzeća na nekom tržištu nad cijenama proizvoda. Poslovni subjekti najčešće posjeduju varirajući stupanj tržišne moći, a jedna od industrija u kojoj su evidentne ove promjene je fitnes industrija. U tom smislu, u radu su izloženi podaci o broju aktivnih fitnes centara, broju aktivnih članova i poslovnim prihodima, kako u cijelome svijetu, tako i u Europi te na analiziranom segmentiranom području Splitsko- dalmatinske županije, pokazuju da je fitnes industrija stabilna s jakim uzlaznim trendovima. U promatranom razdoblju, koje obuhvaća poslovanje od 2016. do 2020. godine, uzastopni tržišni lider bio je Joker fitness. Guliver fitness se pozicionirao na drugom mjestu tijekom svih pet promatranih godina. Navedena dva fitnes centra pokrivaju u prosjeku 85,17% tržišta fitnes industrije u Splitsko-dalmatinskoj županiji. Promatrano tržište ima obilježja čvrstog oligopola i određene značajke monopolističke konkurencije.
Abstract (english)
Market power is the degree of control that companies have in a certain market over product prices. Business entities usually possess a varying degree of market power, and companies operating in the fitness industry witness the same trend. Data on the number of active fitness centres, the number of active members and business revenues, both worldwide and in Europe and in the analysed segmented area of Split-Dalmatia County, show that the fitness industry is stable with strong upward trends. In the observed period, which includes operations from 2016 to 2020, the consecutive market leader was Joker fitness. Guliver fitness was positioned in second place during all five observed years. The above-mentioned two fitness centres cover an average of 85.17% of the fitness industry market in Split-Dalmatia County. The observed market has the characteristics of a tight oligopoly and certain traits of monopolistic competition.
