Abstract
Financije su važan dio života jer se svaka osoba u nekom trenutku nađe u situaciji da treba donijeti financijske odluke. Živimo u vremenu sve dostupnijih, ali kompleksnijih financijskih proizvoda o kojima se treba znati informirati te na temelju toga znati odabrati sukladno svojim preferencijama i potrebama. Imajući to u vidu, cilj ovog rada je argumentirati važnost financijske pismenosti, prikazati rezultate dosadašnjih istraživanja o razini financijske pismenosti te prezentirati glavne programe usmjerene na unapređenje financijske pismenosti u RH. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju kako financijska pismenost postepeno raste kroz godine, no to i dalje nije na zadovoljavajućoj razini. Hrvatska je također ostvarila pozitivne rezultate, ali naravno, ima još dosta prostora za poboljšanja.
Abstract (english)
Financials are a very important part of everyday life, since every person finds herself at some point in a place where they have to make important financial decisions. We live in a time where financial products are becoming more complex and available, and people should be well informed before making a choice that is related to their needs and wishes. Therefore, the goal of this paper would be to argue the importance of financial literacy, present the results of previous research on the level of financial literacy, and present the main programs aimed at improving financial literacy in the Republic of Croatia. The research results show that financial literacy is gradually increasing over the years, but it is still not at a satisfactory level. Croatia also achieved positive results, but of course, there is still plenty of room for improvement.
