Abstract
Uvođenje jedinstvene valute nosi određene prednosti i nedostatke. Euro nudi brojne pogodnosti za pojedince, poduzeća i gospodarstva u zemljama koje koriste euro. Analizom drugih zemalja koje su uvele euro vidi se da te zemlje imaju bržu i jednostavniju trgovinu među zemljama, učinkovitost financijskog tržišta, nema gubitaka pri konvertiranju tečaja, a također uživaju opipljiv znak europskog identiteta. Republika Hrvatska službeno postaje članica europodručja 2023. godine. Kroz naredni period slijedi postupak prilagodbe i uvođenje eura. Unatoč tome određeni udio populacije ima negativni stav prema uvođenju eura jer smatraju kako će doći do povećanja potrošačkih cijena kao u drugim državama koje su uvele euro, ali navode i gubitak monetarnog suvereniteta. Najveću prednost uvođenja eura građani vide u izjednačavanju Hrvatske s ostatkom EU-a.
Abstract (english)
The introduction of a single currency has certain advantages and disadvantages. The euro offers numerous benefits for individuals, businesses and economies in countries that use the euro. An analysis of other countries that introduced the euro shows that these countries have faster and simpler trade between countries, the efficiency of the financial market, no losses when converting exchange rates, a tangible sign of European identity, etc. The Republic of Croatia officially becomes a member of the euro area in 2023. During the next period, the adjustment process and the introduction of the euro will follow. Despite this, a certain proportion of the population has a negative attitude towards the introduction of the euro because they believe that there will be an increase in consumer prices as in other countries that have introduced the euro, but they also state the loss of monetary sovereignty. Citizens see the greatest advantage of the introduction of the euro in equalizing Croatia with the rest of the EU.
