Abstract
Cilj istraživanja bio je analizirati utjecaj pandemije COVID-19 na industriju osiguranja. U sklopu rada, provedena su dubinska istraživanja utjecaja pandemije na pet različitih zemalja: Sjedinjene Američke Države, Kina, Indija, Gana i Hrvatska. Svaka zemlja je individualno istražena, a na kraju rada svi prikupljeni podaci su sustavno analizirani kako bi se identificirali opći zaključci i trendovi koji su proizašli iz pojave pandemije. U zaključku, moguće je konstatirati da je pandemija značajno utjecala na industriju osiguranja u svakoj od navedenih zemalja, istovremeno imajući globalni odraz. Uočeni su slični trendovi, uključujući pad premija, smanjenje osiguranih iznosa, povećanje odštetnih zahtjeva te, konačno, opadanje prihoda. Sustavna analiza prikupljenih podataka omogućila je identifikaciju ovih zajedničkih karakteristika, što pridonosi ukupnom razumijevanju dinamike promjena unutar industrije osiguranja uzrokovanih pandemijom COVID-19.
Abstract (english)
The aim of the research was to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the insurance industry. In the course of the study, in-depth research was conducted on the effects of the pandemic in five different countries: the United States, China, India, Ghana, and Croatia. Each country was individually examined, and at the conclusion of the study, all gathered data were systematically analyzed to identify general conclusions and trends arising from the onset of the pandemic. In conclusion, it can be stated that the pandemic has significantly influenced the insurance industry in each of the mentioned countries, simultaneously having a global impact. Similar trends were observed, including a decline in premiums, reduced insured amounts, increased claims, and ultimately, a decrease in revenue. The systematic analysis of collected data enabled the identification of these common characteristics, contributing to an overall understanding of the dynamics of changes within the insurance industry caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
