Abstract
Cilj ovoga rada bio je analizirati trend kretanja proizvodnje povrća u Republici Hrvatskoj u periodu od 2008. do 2015. godine, te istražiti osobitosti povrćarstva u Republici Hrvatskoj. Također, cilj je bio i obratiti pažnju na uvoz/izvoz u ovom sektoru, ukazati na probleme s kojima se susreće povrćarstvo te na kraju istražiti i potencijalna moguća rješenja i prilike za razvoj. Za usporedbu je korištena i EU kao glavni uvoznik povrća. Rezultati analize upućuju na brojne probleme s kojima se suočava ovaj sektor kao i poljoprivredna proizvodnja općenito. Ipak, zbog pogodnih agroklimatskih uvjeta, Hrvatska ima mogućnosti za daljnji rast i razvoj ovog sektora.
Abstract (english)
The purpose of this paper was to analyze the trend of vegetable production in Croatia during the 2008-2015 period, as well as to explore particularities of this sector in Croatia. Furthermore, the goals were also to: emphasize the importance of import and export in this sector; point out its problems, and investigate the potential outcome and chances for further development. The European Union, as a main vegetables importer, was used for comparative purposes. The result of analysis indicated that this sector faces numerous problems. However, due to its favorable agro-climate conditions, Croatia has a great potential for further growth and development of this sector.
