Water is a necessary element of human survival, as well as economic and non-economic activities. Until the increase in water consumption in tourism is growing due to the increase in the number of inhabitants in the tourist destination and due to the growth in the number of tourists. In this paper, water consumption in tourism is investigated on the example of the city of Rovinj. During the year, the city of Rovinj realizes over 4 million overnight stays, which results in the consumption of a large amount of water in tourism. In the past few years, the tourist zone in the city of Rovinj has been extended, so the increased water consumption occurs from May to September. The conducted analysis showed that almost three times more water is consumed in these months than in other months combined. The greatest pressures on the city are during July and especially in August, when tourist consumption exceeds 270 thousand m3, and city water consumption exceeds 460 thousand m3. Water consumption management is an increasing challenge in modern tourist destinations because the available amount of water is not enough to meet the growing tourist requirements. Water resources management alone will be an important business function on which the availability and availability of water will depend in the future.
