Tourism is one of the most important activities for the economy of the Republic of Croatia. Since 2012, when the global financial crisis ended, tourism has been growing steadily. In order to successfully form the entire offer, it is necessary to attract and implement quality investment projects. Like the Republic of Croatia, with the development of globalization, more and more countries have changed their position in foreign direct investment. Taking into account that the available funds cannot significantly influence global changes, the Republic of Croatia strives to create favorable business conditions by which it will attract foreign investors. The paper presents the importance of foreign direct investments and their positive effect on Croatian tourism. The development potential of Croatian tourism is also shown, which shows that the Republic of Croatia provides enough space for foreign direct investment with an emphasis on luxury tourism. The analysis of tourism indicators leads to the conclusion that investments in Croatian tourism are still not at the appropriate level. By investing in profitable sectors, investment projects should return quickly. By investing in luxury accommodation, but also adrenaline parks, a high quality of service would be offered. By expanding the offer, one of the goals of the tourism sector would be achieved - a selective form of tourism would be developed. By investing in marketing, human potential, the Government of the Republic of Croatia managed tourism policy, sought to create a positive investment environment and reduced fiscal levies.
