Crowdfunding is one of the financing methods that is still unknown and is not used as often in Croatia as it is in the world. The crowdfunding market has not existed for long, it has a short history. It should be emphasized that this is one of the ways that dynamically develops the financing of business projects. This form of financing is not classic, but its role is growing every year. Crowdfunding is an alternative way of financing compared to traditional borrowing. In principle, it is open to everyone, both private individuals and business entities. A group of people contribute financially in small amounts to projects, products or ideas. Those who want to buy the funds they need apply directly or through a specific digital platform. Crowdfunding is becoming increasingly popular as a means for creators and entrepreneurs to get the necessary funds to launch their ideas and projects, and many consider it an alternative funding model for funding start-ups, among which the leading market platform is Kickstarter. This growing popularity has not yet taken hold in the vast majority of developing countries, where there is no shortage of talent or innovative ideas, but where there is a lack of funds for innovative ventures in business and development. Many developing countries in the Middle East and North Africa that are facing a difficult financial situation could greatly benefit from crowdfunding in creating a positive impact on poor societies. One of the types of crowdfunding is equity crowdfunding. It is still in an early stage of development in Croatia. Equity crowdfunding allows a large group of individuals to invest in the early stages of a business in exchange for partial ownership of the company. The success of the Croatian campaign on Funderbeam emphasizes the importance of a good idea, advantages and the will to succeed.
