Abstract
Turizam posljednjih godina doživljava značajne promjene i rast u svim segmentima. Potrebe tržišta dovele su do razvoja selektivnih oblika turizma. Specifičnosti turističke ponude, a time i turističke potražnje odražava se posebice i u omladinskom turizmu, segmentiranom prije svega dobi, ali svakako i određenim načinom putovanja. Mladi turisti aktivniji su od prosječnog turista, njihova putovanja traju nekoliko puta duže i unatoč manjoj dnevnoj potrošnji, na putovanjima potroše više od prosječnog turista. Prilikom odabira smještaja, najviše pažnje posvećuju cijeni te najčešće odsjedaju u hostelima i sličnim oblicima omladinskog smještaja. Iako su backpackeri nekada predstavljali marginalizirani segment turističkog tržišta, danas imaju sve važniju ulogu u ukupnim svjetskim turističkim kretanjima. Sukladno svjetskim trendovima, ovaj oblik turizma počinje se razvijati i u Hrvatskoj koja postaje sve privlačnija destinacija za mlade turiste. Svakako, Hrvatska, kao poprište turizma mladih još uvijek nema dovoljno podataka i istraživanja o putovanjima mladih, no rastući trend ovog turizma zasigurno je dobar motiv za istraživanja i prilagodbu turističke ponude za ovaj profil turista.
Abstract (english)
Tourism recently experiences significant changes and growth in all segments. Market demands and sophisticated tastes have led to necessity of providing diversified supply adapting individually to each tourist. Specificity of tourism offer and consequently tourism demand reflect in youth tourism, segmented primarily by age, but certainly by specific way of travelling. Young tourists are more active than average tourists, their journeys last longer and they spend more than average tourists on trips. When choosing accommodation, most attention is paid to the prices and most often stay in hostels and similar forms of youth accommodation. Although backpackers have once represented a marginalized segment of the tourist market, today they play an increasingly important role. In line with global trends, this form of tourism is beginning to develop in Croatia as well, becoming increasingly attractive destination for young tourists. However, Croatia as the destination of youth tourism still lacks sufficient data and research on youth travel, but the growing trend of tourism is certainly a good motive for finding and adapting tourist offers for this tourist profile.
