Psihološki i
emocionalni učinci financijskog stresa mogu uzrokovati tjeskobu, zabrinutost i novčane brige, što
negativno utječe na opće zadovoljstvo životom (Kahn i Pearlin, 2006; Northern etal., 2010; Park etal.,
... More akademskim
postignućem (Andrews i Wilding, 2004; Hossleretal., 2009; Northern etal., 2010). Analizom hipoteza
Zbog financijske situacije i potrebe
Less
Abstract (english) Financial stress has a significant impact on the quality of life and academic success of students. The
psychological and emotional effects of financial stress can cause anxiety, worry, and money worries,
which negatively affect overall life satisfaction (Kahn and Pearlin, 2006; Northern et al., 2010; Park et
al., 2017). Students often face financial challenges that can be a source of stress and anxiety, and lack
of money can lead to depression, poor health, and problems with academic
... More achievement (Andrews
and Wilding, 2004; Hossler et al., 2009; Northern et al., 2010). By analyzing the hypotheses using the
Kruskal-Wallis test in the empirical part of the thesis on a sample of 102 respondents, it was shown
that financial stress affects the financial habits and behaviors of students at the Faculty of Economics
in Split, while it does not affect their academic performance and quality of social life. Among the
respondents, of whom 60 are female and 42 are male, over 46% are financed by parents or guardians.
Although 56% of respondents report dissatisfaction with their current situation, more than half have
no difficulty sleeping when it comes to their financial situation. Due to the financial situation and the
need to work, about 40% of respondents believe that this reduces their time for social activities. Most
students focus on immediate financial needs, neglecting long-term goals and saving. This lack of long
term planning can lead to financial difficulties in the future, especially given the uncertainty of the job
market and the high cost of living. It is important to provide students with financial literacy education,
encourage family support and provide affordable options for financing their studies, and develop long
term financial planning mindsets to ensure financial stability and reduce financial stress after
graduation. Less
