Abstract
Tema ovog diplomskog rada je strategija razvoja turizma grada Šibenika. U ovom radu se istraţilo koliko dobro se grad Šibenik brendirao kao destinacija za kulturni turizam, te koliko uspješno ili neuspješno se revitalizirala stara gradska jezgra sukladno razvoju turizma. Grad Šibenik sa svojom bogatom poviješću i kulturnom baštinom, kao i izvorima sredstava iz EU fondova za obnovu i revitalizaciju gradskih znamenitosti ima sve predispozicije za daljnji razvoj ne samo kulturnog turizma, već i drugih oblika turizma kao što je cikloturizam, gastro turizam, te manifestacijski turizam. Na ruku Šibenika ide loša sigurnosna situacija u ostalim mediteranskim zemljama, što je takoĊer izvrsna prilika za privući nove goste, zadrţati ih i navesti na povratak. MeĊu izazove na koje šibenski turizam treba dati odgovor su naĉini produljenja sezone, ulaganja u smještajne kapacitete, a kao najvaţniji izazov valja istaknuti stvaranje strateške vizije.
Abstract (english)
The subject of this diploma thesis is strategy of tourism development of the city of Šibenik. This thesis explores how well the city of Šibenik has been branded as a destination for cultural tourism, and how succesful or not succesfull old city center is revitalized, due to tourism development. City of Šibenik with its rich history and culture, and with EU fonds for reconstruction and revitalization has all prerequisites for further development not only of cultural tourism but also of other forms of tourism such as cyclotourism, gastronomic tourism and manifestation tourism. Bad security situation in other Mediterranean countries goes in favor of Šibenik, which is a great opportunity to attract new visitors, keep them and convince them to come back. Among the challenges that Šibenik tourism should answer are the ways of extending the season, investment in accommodation capacities, and as the most important challenge to point out is creation of the strategic vision.
