... More turističke regije, po važnosti, su Lisabon i okolica, Algarve, Sjeverna regija, otočja Azori i Madeira te Alentejo. Danas, većinu stranih turista u Portugalu čine Britanci, Španjolci i Njemci. Uglavnom putuju jeftinijim prijevoznicima, ne traže samo sunce i more, već kulturu, gastronomiju, nautički turizam ili poslovna putovanja. Većina turista koji traže odmor na plaži posjetiti će južnu obalu, koja je poznata kao regija Algarve. Centralni Algarve je najposjećeniji dio regije, s velikim hotelskim kompleksima i bogatom ponudom restorana, barova i ostalih turističkih usluga. Plaže, golfski tereni i ugodna klima su glavne atrakcije Algarvea i one ga pretvaraju u cjelogodišnju destinaciju. Lagos je jedno od omiljenih destinacija za odmor u Algarveu, kojeg posjećuje tisuće turista svake godine. Također, tu se nalazi i rijeka Douro s koje se može uživati u terasastim vinogradima. Alentejo je jedna od najtradicionalnijih regija Portugala.
